I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say (Kingsfold)
How Great Thou Art (O Store Gud, in Ab)
Humbly We Adore (Adoro Te Devote)
Notas Mihi
There's a Wideness in God's Mercy (In Babilone)

Oh dear....O STORE GUD is low in A-flat!

Do you ever get the sense that this hymn doesn’t square with Catholic theology? I confess, I am purposely omitting it from my funeral music recommendations. It seems to suggest a denial of the judgement of each person.

It at least is different in character from, say, verse 5 of “Conditor alme siderum”:

O Thou, Whose coming is with dread
To judge the living and the dead
Preserve us, while we dwell below
From every insult of the foe.

yeah, but it's stinkin' high in Bb! Yeah, I agree that the theology of the 4th verse isn't completely Catholic, same with Amazing Grace... (stupid Protestant hymns that everyone loves...)

Hm - ok, I agree around about the *end* of O STORE GUD. But *yech* about singing the beginning down there!

“..and I will RAAAAIIISE you up...”
